Aosta, how to get there

Aosta is the regional capital and the centre of everything: the Arch of Augustus, Porta Praetoria, the Roman Theatre reopened in 2026, the Sant'Orso fair on 30 and 31 January, and the gondola to Pila leaving from the city. From here you go to Cogne and the Gran Paradiso, to Courmayeur, to Cervinia.

From Turin airport it is 115 km and about 1h15; from Malpensa 180 km and 2h; from Milan 2h10. Until the Ivrea-Aosta railway reopens (progressively from January 2027) trains are replaced by buses: a private transfer from Turin or Milan station is the simplest choice. The centre has a restricted traffic zone: as an accredited NCC operator we take you to the hotel.

In brief

Does Aosta have an airport?

No, the Aosta Valley has no commercial airport. The closest is Turin Caselle, 115 km and a 1h15 transfer; then Milan Malpensa (180 km, 2h), Linate (195 km) and Bergamo (225 km).

How much is the transfer from Turin airport to Aosta?

Fixed price per vehicle: Standard car for up to 3 passengers from about 215 euro, Comfort from 245, van for up to 8 from 250, A5 tolls included.

Is there a direct train from Turin to Aosta?

Not in 2026: the Ivrea-Aosta line is closed for electrification and trains are replaced by buses, with a progressive reopening from January 2027. A private transfer from Turin station takes about 1h30.
